Cyndy > DEBORAH ( BARTLETT ) COWLES, wife of JOHN, died Dec. 11,1711, aged 66

HANNAH COWLES, born Nov.14, 1670....died Dec.16, 1711

ABIAH COWLES, born Oct.27,1722...died May 10, 1727

Cyndy > JOHN COWLES, born in England and died at Hatfield, Mass., Sept.1675, aged 75 or 77, and is believed to be buried near this spot. His wife, Hannah, died in Hartford, Conn.,Mar.17,1683 at the age of 70. (her grave in the old Center Cemetery is marked by a stone.
John was of the original proprietors, and settled in the town of Farmington(Conn.),1640.
In between all this are positions he held.....
1659/1660, it's understood that he with 5 other families spent the winter of 1660-61at the present site of Hatfield, then Hadley
where he was granted an allotment of land in Sept.24,1661 and that was providing he was there by June24,1662, but the time was extended until 1664 which he was in Hartford. He returned to Hatfield in 1664. (More position details here)
He had 2 sons and 5 daughters, the genealogy of the COWLES Families of America, 1929 by Colonel Calvin D. Cowles, U.S. Army, retired, Hartford, Conn., and a copy in the Hatfield town library.
(erected in 1932/8) by Col.Calvin Cowles, and his kinsmen, Alfred Cowles, William Hutchinson Cowles, and Sarah Frances ( Cowles ) Stewart.
