The original burying ground of the settlers cannot be found so the next best thing is the oldest surviving burial ground.
There are NO stones PRIOR 1709

Cyndy > In memory of Thomas Hosmer who came from Hawkhurst in the County of Kent, England was one of the original settlers of Hartford.  
  He died at Northampton,Mass, April 12, 1687. was buried here,
aged 83
