oldest settlers buried here with their pastor, Timothy Edwards, son of Jonathan Edwards ; also the Grants are buried here, ancestors of President Ulysses S.Grant.
The surnames are not all buried together so check all the photos.

S.Windsor is in Hartford Co.

Cyndy > The REV. TIMOTHY EDWARDS, pastor of the 2d society in Windsor, (you can read the in between ), died January ye 27th, 1758. in the 80th year of his age and in the 64th of his ministry....and his remains are bury'd under this stone.

the inscriptions do not last long on this type of gravestone (slab).....and this is dated from 1758.....excellent condition.

Cyndy > JOHN GAYLORD....died 1790....served with Capt. Ebenezer Grant's Co., at the Deerfield Expedition, 1745, during the King George War.

Cyndy > Sgt. OLIVER DAY, died July 27, 1795, aged 62
served at the Lexington Alarm, 1775, during the Rev. War.

Cyndy > NATHAN DAY, died Dec. ye 28th, 1779, aged 78

Cyndy > STEPHEN GIBBS, died Nov. 25, 1826...aged 72

served in the Revolutionary War with the 2d Co. 4th Rgt

Cyndy > AZARIAH SKINNER, died Nov.28,1778, aged 28

served with the Continental Serv. in the Revolutionary War.

(wonder if the "Continental "Serv." means the Continental Army ?)
