Cyndy > Nathaniel Rossetter , died 21 Nov. 1769 in his 55 year........ at his left hand, lies his daughter Lucy who died Aug. 21, 1756, age 9 months.
Cyndy > Hyland House, George Hyland was a sheep farmer, and the original owner , built early as 1660. This lovely old salt box was destined to be torn down in 1916 but a group of ladies called "Dorothies" purchased and restored the house and in 1918 it was open to public. George's grandson, Ebenezer Parmelee (1690-1777) lived here and he was shipwright and master of metal and woodworking and he built the 1727 tower clock which kept time for 165 years in the steeple of the Congregational Churchs located on the green.....that clock is on display in this house. The following pictures will show some items in this house

Cyndy > The top part can be read.....just enlarge photo..... -- There was a large skirmish between the Guilford troops and the British on June 18,1781 when 150 British soldiers landed on Leete's island.. (none of the names are for June 18???) == the names below are documented in the "Burgis Mortality Book", a record of deaths kept by the town, I assume these deaths were caused by the "smaller skirmishes" (?)
