" Old Deerfield " cemetery, located on Old Albany Road or as it's called "Harrow's field".........this is a " town that time passed by"..............For serious Deerfield reseachers, there is a book: " Family & Landscape: Deerfield Homelots from 1671;  Susan McGowan & Amelia F.Miller, Pomcumtuck Valley Memorial Association, 1996 which can be ordered through the on line Deerfield Museum Store...............this part of Deerfield, now called "OLD Deerfield" was attacked in 1704 by the French and Indians from Quebec,Canada.

SOUTH DEERFIELD (Deerfield)Franklin Co.;  Sugarloaf Street in center of town : Deerfield name for the town in spite of being  " South Deerfield " .

  I found several early names in this cemetery that were not in the "Old Deerfield" burying ground.

  There are NO stones prior to 1700's in either cemetery.

  Many of the people buried here were born in early to mid 1700's.

LUDLOW, Hampden Co.....Old Burying Ground : The early days of Ludlow was part of Springfield.....until 1774.......the old name was " Stony Hill "
  The " busy" area of Ludlow is roughly 2 miles away....when the mills came in...the town grew there and the Old Ludlow Center became a quiet place. ( thank goodness )

ANDOVER, Essex Co.,  (I believe it's the South Cemetery) : Andover was settled about 1646.....the old name for the town was Cochichawick....and the spelling for Andover in the Mass.Bay Records
was "Andiver "
  There is another old burying ground in Andover but didnt get to it.(2001)
  Most of  the stones pictured here are my ancestors.
  It was part of the Massachusetts Bay Colony.
